We provide consultations in ALL aspects of Gastrointestinal and Liver disorders. We have privileges at Scripps Hospital and Sharp Hospital in Chula Vista, San Diego.

For your convenience we provide a large variety of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. We do most of our procedures at the office or outpatient endoscopy and surgericenters, to facilitate the process and economize patients out of pocket expenses. Most procedures are done using conscious sedation, so discomfort is minimal to none.

Colonoscopy is the endoscopic examination of the large colon. It is one of the most important prevention and screening tools for colorectal carcinoma.  Colon caner is the second most common and deadliest cancer in the USA, and is totally preventable and curable if found early. Bowel prep is used and sedation is fully amnesic so you will not remember the procedure. It is required for cancer prevention by all insurances in people over 50 and some earlier, as per the following guidelines for screening :
American College of Gastroenterology Guidelines for Colorectal Cancer Screening

Upper Endoscopy
A diagnostic procedure that visualizes the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract –esophagus, stomach and duodenum. All that is required is to be in fasting state, recall of procedure is minimal to none since we use conscious sedation.

Esophageal dilation
A procedure performed during endoscopy to stretch the esophagus in people who have trouble swallowing due to a narrowing or ring of the esophagus.

Hydrogen Breath Test
A hydrogen breath test (or HBT) is used as a clinical medical diagnosis for people with irritable bowel syndrome, and common food intolerances. The test is simple, non-invasive, and is performed after a short period of fasting (typically 8-12 hours).

Video Capsule Endoscopy
Capsule Endoscopy is an exam that uses a miniature pill like capsule with 2 cameras in it which record images through the digestive tract.

Treatment of Hemorrhoids
We treat hemorroids with a system that is done in the office and is totally painless. It entails 3 sessions of less than one minute, no anesthesia and you go back to all daily activities.

Bravo pH Capsule Test
It is a study that evaluates the amount of regurgitation of stomach acid, using a small capsule attached to your esophagus. These data will help us to make a diagnosis, especially in difficult or atypical cases and treat your symptoms. Click here for more information.

Ablation for Barrett's Esophagus
We use BARRX radiofrequency ablation to treat Barrett's esophagus, a premalignant condition that leads to esophageal cancer in some patients. Click here for more information.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
A diagnostic procedure that evaluates only the distal part of the colon, no sedation needed.
